01

Prompt Contact

Responses are normally provided within 24 to 48 hours and often within an hour or at the requested contact time.

02

Virtual Evaluation

Every estimate is prepared remotely using property information, imagery, measurement software, and visual verification.

03

Guaranteed Scope Price

The proposal price is guaranteed for the work defined in the approved project scope.

04

Direct GSS Responsibility

The same specialty company remains accountable through scheduling, installation, communication, and closeout.

Before the Estimate

Begin With the Property and the Finish You Are Considering

You do not need to know every technical detail before contacting GSS. A full address, close photographs of the masonry, inspiration photographs, a preferred completion timeframe, and a brief description give the specialist a useful starting point.

If you are still comparing directions, explore the finish system and completed projects before the consultation. These resources help you describe the balance of texture, coverage, and visible brick that appeals to you.

Phase One

Consultation, Evaluation, and Proposal

The first phase establishes the property, requested work, visual direction, and information needed for a detailed proposal without requiring an onsite sales appointment.

01

Request an Estimate

Submit the short estimate form with your name, contact information, project address, project type, and preferred contact time. You may also choose a consultation time directly.

02

Speak With a Specialist

A specialist normally responds within 24 to 48 hours and frequently within an hour or at the preferred time selected in the form. The conversation focuses on the property, the result you are considering, and the next information needed.

03

Provide the Project Information

GSS requests the full property address, close photographs of the brick or stone, inspiration photographs, the preferred completion timeframe, and a brief description of the requested project.

04

Complete the Virtual Evaluation

All estimates are performed virtually. GSS uses measurement software and cross references available property imagery, Google Street View, and customer supplied photographs to evaluate the treated surfaces and prepare the project measurements.

05

Receive the Detailed Proposal

The client receives a detailed proposal by email. It defines the work being offered and provides dependable project expectations without requiring the homeowner to navigate an onsite sales presentation.

Confidence Before Commitment

Speak With Past Customers Who Have Experienced the Process

Hiring a nationwide artisan before meeting in person is a meaningful decision. Qualified prospective clients who have received a proposal may request access to a reference list of past customers who have voluntarily given GSS permission to share their contact information.

Prospective clients may call, text, or email participating references to ask about company character, communication, project conduct, and the experience of working with German Smear Specialists.

Reference information is never published publicly. It is shared only with the permission of participating past customers and only with qualified prospective clients considering a GSS proposal.

Phase Two

Proposal Acceptance and Scheduling

The scheduling phase creates a clear commitment without asking the customer to assume an unnecessarily large financial risk before meeting the installation team.

06

Approve the Proposal

The client reviews the detailed proposal and confirms the project through the documented acceptance process. Questions about the defined work are resolved before scheduling proceeds.

07

Reserve the Project With a Small Down Payment

Rather than requiring the substantial advance payment commonly requested within the contracting industry, GSS intentionally asks for only a small contractual down payment to reserve the project in the schedule. This provides mutual commitment while giving customers greater confidence when hiring a committed artisan they have not yet met in person.

08

Receive an Estimated Start Month

GSS frequently books months in advance. Because project duration, travel, and weather can affect the sequence, the client receives an estimated start month rather than an artificial exact date far in advance.

09

Follow the Schedule Progression

As each installation is completed, GSS contacts customers who are next in the schedule and keeps them informed about the progression toward their project.

A Predictable Arrival

Communication Increases as the Installation Approaches

The customer is not expected to wait without information. GSS confirms the project repeatedly as the installation team approaches the property.

Two Weeks PriorGSS provides a schedule update and confirms that the anticipated arrival remains appropriate.
One Week PriorThe customer receives another confirmation and an opportunity to share relevant property or access information.
One Day PriorGSS confirms the arrival and verifies that the property is ready for the installation team.
Customer PreparationHomeowner responsibility is intentionally minimal. If a vehicle or another item needs to be moved, the team communicates the request directly.
Phase Three

Preparation, Sample Approval, and Installation

The onsite process protects daily life at the property while giving the homeowner repeated opportunities to review the developing finish.

10

Prepare the Active Work Area

The team moves relevant items away from the masonry, performs the required chemical and pressure washing, and protects adjacent areas. Windows and surrounding surfaces are protected as each active section is reached and uncovered after that section is completed, avoiding unnecessary disruption across the entire property.

11

Review the Project Sample

The customer is asked to review the property specific finish sample on the first or second project day. Coverage, texture, mortar movement, and visible brick are evaluated before the full installation continues.

12

Complete the Approved Finish

GSS artisans carry the approved direction across the contracted surfaces with attention to architecture, masonry variation, transitions, and the balance established during sample approval.

13

Review Progress Every Day

The team provides daily updates and seeks regular customer review so the work remains aligned with the approved direction and the homeowner can raise questions while the project is active.

14

Document Any Added Work

If the customer requests work outside the approved scope, the addition is discussed and confirmed through a signed change order delivered by email before the added work proceeds.

15

Clean and Secure the Property Daily

Tools, trash, and debris are organized or removed throughout the day and at departure. Relevant protection remains only while its active area requires it. Gates, garages, and other provided access points are locked or closed before the team leaves.

Phase Four

Final Review and Post Project Support

Completion includes more than leaving the property. The final stage confirms the work, closes out the active project, and gives the customer practical information for long term ownership.

16

Complete the Final Review

The customer and GSS review the completed finish, cleanup, and any documented completion items before the active installation closes.

17

Receive the Closeout Packet

GSS emails a closeout packet covering care and maintenance, appropriate long term expectations, an invitation to the online community, and information about the customer referral program.

18

Keep the Project Material

Every customer receives a bag of SmearTech Signature White Mortar associated with the GSS material system. Learn more about the Signature White Mortar used by German Smear Specialists.

19

Remain Connected

Customers may join the GSS online community, share their experience, participate in the referral program, and continue using the company educational library as questions arise.

Qualified prospective clients who have received a proposal may request the GSS customer reference list. The list contains only past customers who have given permission for their contact information to be shared for this purpose.
